Starting with Flash Fiction

Many friends suggest me to create a blog. I am actually getting confused when people said so, what will I use a blog for? Turn out, I have sooo many materials to use because I love to write a small story or flash fiction. As the first post, here is my first flash fiction.

The Sailor and The Song 

"Why are we doing this, Captain?"

A young man was asked while the captain tied him on the mast. The other ship crew was now plugging a wax on their ears, only the young man was tied down and not given any wax. The sea was calm, but the crew act as if the storm is coming.

"Well, This is your first time on the sea, you need to be ready for everything," the Captain answered, "This is trial for you. You survive this, we will welcome you."

The ship soon coming into the rock formation. The captain just smiled at the young man smugly. He was trying to understand what the heck happened? The ship crew behave strangely, but soon he realised why.

A song can be heard, and it was beautiful. It was inviting him to the sea, the sea was a beautiful place. It was heaven, he needs to come to the sea.

The young man felt his body can't move, this rope binding his body is in the way, and he needs to cut them. But no use, the song commands him to jump on the sea, to see the heaven on the depth. But He can't comply the command.

Soon, he can see a mermaid, looking at the young man with a sad face and waved its hand. But The young man still can't move, can't escape. He wants to greet the mermaid back, want to talk with it. But he can't.

And then the song suddenly just stop and he felt hurt on his entire body.

"What happened?" he asked, confused.

"Mermaid song," the captain smiled.
